Neil Diamond - The Chanukah Song
Neil Diamond... - Joe Lazarus
I've done a similiar pipe months ago. (http://pipes.yahoo.com/pipes/pipe.edit?_id=SIb_...)
The thing I've just improved from what I've seen in your pipe was the pubDate.
Can you tell me why utime have to be overwritten with a constant number?
Tumblr requires a pubDate. If you submit a feed to them without one, you get an error. However, the pubDate doesn't seem to be used for anything. They assign each feed item their own pubDate when it is posted to Tumblr. So, I just used a constant to get around the error message I was getting from Tumblr before I added that. It probably would have been more accurate for me to use the date field from Last.fm, but since it's not used for anything I just skipped that part and used a fixed value.
Great stuff Joe.
http://pipes.yahoo.com/pipes/pipe.run?_id=b0d26...
I hope that helps.
Hang on lemme check tumblr again.
Yup. It's working now. I'm nuts it seems.
Thanks!

Yet, there is a feed for you that's updated daily instead of weekly...
http://ws.audioscrobbler.com/1.0/user/completes...
Did you just join Last.fm this week? If so, try waiting a week and Last.fm should have time to collect your first weekly data correctly.

I am having a small issue with the code that the pipe spits out into my tumblr post. Would it be possible to have the pipe generate code that does not stick p tags around the ordered list of songs? If that were possible and the "Imported from Last.fm Tumblr" line could then go inside its own p tags, I think the pipe's output would be friendlier to the css on my (and probably others' ) site(s).
If you take this post as an example, you will see that there is no vertical space between "Imported from ..." and the dividing line directly below it. I'm pretty sure this is because the CSS doesn't "see" the p tags that surround the ordered list and the "Imported from" attribution.
Is it that I haven't listened to any artists yet?
If that's not totally possible, then something weekly or daily would be great too.

(I'm sure it will actually show up...sorry I'm completely not tech savvy)
How do you get this on to Tumblr?
If you are interested, I built a tool for lastfm twitter integration. Basically if you love a track on lastfm it tweets it. I am testing it now. Tweet me at @pootytang if you are interested.

for your recently listened to tracks, why not just use last.fm's widgets?...
http://www.last.fm/widgets/
Thanks a ton, very exciting.
That's right I guess I could use their widgets, though not sure if they have
one that just spits out one artist song combo. Will have to check. Hope all
rocks for you!
Anyway, do you have idea where can i find that?
Thanks in advance and congratulations for your tumblr and the last.fm pipe which i've included in mine. deepblue.tumblr.com

As you can see, you only listened to 2 artists last week. When I made the feed, I decided that if a person listened to less than 5 artists for the week, that I would skip the update that week (ie. does a top 5 list make sense when you only listened to 2 artists). In order for the feed to update for you next week, make sure you listen to more than 5 artists this week.
http://pipes.yahoo.com/pipes/pipe.run?_id=b0d26...
http://www.last.fm/user/uriela/charts/
Since the idea is to show your top 5 artists, it's designed to only show results for a given week if you listen to at least 5 bands the prior week.
I visited Last.fm and noticed that they'd drastically changed their website, did they play with the API while they were at it?
any of them this week. I'm not sure why that it. Unfortunately, it's out
of my control. I'll email Tumblr and see if they have any thoughts on it.
I'm sorry to bother you, but I get 'No pipe results for Last.fm Tumblr." when I run the pipe.
Do I have to do something on the last.fm end for it to work??? My username is fdelacruz.
Thanks in advance and great work.

looks like you just started doing that a few days ago.
"No pipe results for Last.fm Tumblr."
This is particularly weird as I always use Last.fm and when I visit my profile, I do see activity although the pipe is not catching it. I tried to seek for a solution in my Last.fm settings but all seems to be set well. Any ideas?

Would there be a way to just let it pull monthly or maybe bi-monthly charts? I do use Last.fm, but I still use my "real" stereo more, so I often fail at submitting weekly charts. Just wondering if the monthly thing can be done...
created and modify it to run on a monthly basis instead of weekly. There's
a link next to every Pipe labeled "Edit Source". Click that and it creates
a copy of the Pipe that you can view and edit. It might take a little while
to learn Yahoo! Pipes, but it should be possible.
I have decided that I could live with 3 months, since that does make more sense for me than 7 days. I changed the references to weekly charts to that of monthly charts, which, if I'm not mistaken, uses the getTopArtists API.
Sadly, it does not appear to be working. I don't even know where I went wrong, all I ever get is the "No pipe results" error message. Even though I felt bad about it, I published my dysfunctional attempt, hoping the cap locks will deter people.
http://pipes.yahoo.com/hellagood/LMAeupVv3hGMiP...
I'm not asking you specifically because I know you're a busy guy, I just thought I'd post this here any maybe I'm lucky and somehow has attempted and succeeded at doing this for any period of time > 7 days.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. :)
variable called "period" and entered a value of "3month". That variable
isn't supported by the API call your using. It may be possible to create
the Pipe you're looking for, but it's probably a bit more complicated than
just copying my Pipe and making a few small changes.
Personally, I don't think the Pipe would be all that valuable anyway. If
you only want to update your list once every 3 months, it's probably easier
to post the list by hand. That said, it probably could be done if you or
someone else wants to take up the challenge of creating the Pipe.
Good luck!
